"The nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes." ~ Ezekiel 36:23

I was just reading about the controversy in the Presbyterian denomination concerning their homosexual clergy ban.

It grieves me that so many, who lay claim to the name of "Christian", are ready to bolt from the true faith in the name of "a way to live together amid great diversity of opinion".

Hebrews 6:11-20"

Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope, so that you won't become lazy, but imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.

For when God made a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself: I will most certainly bless you, and I will greatly multiply you.

And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham obtained the promise.

For men swear by something greater than themselves, and for them a confirming oath ends every dispute.

Because God wanted to show His unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath, so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.

We have this hope--like a sure and firm anchor of the soul--that enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because He has become a "high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

Unchanging, unbending, unwavering, God.

Who are we, if we are they?

Luke 11:17

Knowing their thoughts, He told them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and a house divided against itself falls".

Luke 11:23

Anyone who is not with Me is against Me, and anyone who does not gather with Me scatters.

Neil Anderson stated in one of his devotionals, "Christians are not being narrow-minded when they stand on what God has declared."

We, the church, must stand together and reside firm in the faith.

Revelation 22:6-14

Then he said to me, "These words are faithful and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel to show His servants what must quickly take place."

"Look, I am coming quickly! Blessed is the one who keeps the prophetic words of this book."

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown them to me.

But he said to me, "Don't do that! I am a fellow slave with you, your brothers the prophets, and those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."

He also said to me, "Don't seal the prophetic words of this book, because the time is near. Let the unrighteous go on in unrighteousness; let the filthy go on being made filthy; let the righteous go on in righteousness; and let the holy go on being made holy."

"Look! I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me to repay each person according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. "Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates".

The world has been orchestrated to separate us from the one who is "faithful and true" and to weaken our witness for Him.

1 John 4:4-6

You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world. Therefore what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Anyone who knows God listens to us; anyone who is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception

Listen, pray hard, stand together on the truth that comes from the One who is true.

Homosexuality takes Congress by storm

"The two openly homosexual members of the U.S. House of Representatives have recruited 50 of their colleagues to officially join them in promoting the homosexual agenda in Congress. Democrats Barney Frank of Massachusetts and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin are the only open homosexuals serving in Congress. They have joined with Republicans Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida and Christopher Shays of Connecticut, and 50 other Democrats to create the House Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Caucus.

Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, says it is a sad day when Congress enshrines official promotion of sexual immorality.

"How interesting that we now have a homosexuality, transsexual caucus – I guess you could call it – at the congressional level. It's just unbelievable that there are this many congressmen who are promoting homosexuality and transsexual perversion," LaBarbera laments."

Mayors ask Congress to help fix U.S. infrastructure

City government is a micro-model of federal waste spending. If the Mayors and City Councils of America woudl tighten their belts like their citizens are forced to do, calling a halt to discretionary spending, perhaps they would have available money for infrastructure. Running to the federal trough for money is just another way to stick it to the taxpayers from another direction.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a "post turtle".". Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a "post turtle" was. The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a "post turtle".".

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dummy put him up there to begin with.".

I’ve looked at many studies, lessons, teachings, and ministries over the past months, part of my ongoing quest to define and align my walk as a believer and to discover the closest possible definition of the specific path that our Lord has for me and for my family.  The resources available to us today are overwhelming in their abundance and it is a great joy to be able to listen to so many great teachers of the faith!  Care and caution must be exercised and I’ve managed to trip myself up a few times along the way (the enemy lays many, many snares and pitfalls!) but have discovered and re-discovered a number of delightful paths, amazing insights, clearly delivered exhortations  and simple Christian truths.

Today I was looking at Hank Hanegraaff’s “The Bible Answer Book for Students” and came across two fairly clear and concise articles defining reasons for attending church.  I want to share them with you for your enjoyment and consideration.

Show me a man who knows the Word of God and I’ll show you a man who talks the talk; show me a man who knows the God of the Word and I’ll show you a man who walks the walk.” ~ Joe D., resident of Dominguez Prison

Let's see ... we have "a retired American university professor and freelance writer who has lived in the Middle East for many years" ... advocating that "Israel has been able to exercise unopposed control over Arabs in America" and that "The bigoted Arab-haters ... have been despicable for their monstrously distorted views and actions".So are we to believe that the Arab Muslim community is for free speech and freedom of religion? Is he kidding? PUH-LEASE!
