crazy love

In Francis Chan's book "Crazy Love",  he makes a point about the holiness of God and of the sometimes posture of every day "Christians".
He says, " It's easy to fill ourselves up with other things and then give God whatever is left. Hosea 13:6 says , "When I fed them,  they were satisfied; when they were satisfied they became proud; then they forgot me."
"God gets a scrap or two only because we feel guilty for giving him nothing."
Francis says, " God is holy.  In heaven exists a being who decides whether or not I take another breath.   This holy God deserves excellence, the very best I have.

too easily pleased

"Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."  ~ C.S. Lewis
