"The nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes." ~ Ezekiel 36:23

NEW YORK, 18 November 2008 – Today in New York, UNICEF is bringing together experts, academics, parliamentarians and representatives of governments, non-governmental organizations and United Nations agencies for a two-day conference on how to make legal systems work to achieve children’s and women’s rights.

The conference is part of a long-term initiative by UNICEF and partners to help governments adopt legislative and policy frameworks that comply with their international treaty commitments.

Over the last decade, UNICEF has worked in numerous countries to help harmonize national legislation and legal systems with the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child which requires ratifying states to take all the measures necessary to implement the social, civil, cultural, economic and political rights that it recognizes.

The United Staes is one of two UN member nations which has not ratified this treaty, signed by Bill Clinton but lacking Senate ratification.  This could well be the year in which the Democrat controlled legislative and Executive branches of the federal government sign away the rights of parents and continue the march toward a one world system of government.
This article buy India's Shobha Shukla, highlights the need to begin with and attain the right focus in rearing children and to ponder their "necessities" of life .

"No child asks to be born. It is a conscious decision of both the parents to become instruments of bringing God’s greatest gift to this world. But, very often, the motive behind this serious decision is either just to keep their family tree blooming, and/or else to create crutches for themselves in their time of need/old age. Is this the right attitude with which to embark upon the crucial phase of parenthood?"

Whither the Sanity of Parents?

In a few weeks we will start another journey in America with a new chief at the helm, but with the same sailors rowing and steering.  Those of us who are called by the name of our Lord, must already be in prayer for our new and current leadership.  This is the most important thing we can do for our country.

It is not a time for panic.  I don't trust our President-elect any more than a dark alley, but he has been very up front with the changes he wants to make for us; disagreeable as they may be.

Barack Obama will be our new President and that's a tune we must live with for the next four years at least.

Let's make a difference; let's work to build him up, not tear him down.

We should join the Presidential Prayer Team or something similar in our local community and maintain active involvement in prayer for those in authority over us.

We should walk in wisdom and grace, ready with an answer and ready to lend a hand where needed.

We should be always mindful of who we are, ready to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

If you are called by the name of Christ, live up to the Name to the best of your ability; lean on Him for all.

Pray for me and I'll pray for you!

Not easily digested, but critical that every parent, especially Christian parents, should be familiar with and understand the ramifications of this UN charter.  It has been signed by every member nation except the United States and Somalia, was signed by President Bill Clinton and only needs future-President Obama's Signature and then ratification of the Senate to make it law in this country; a very real possibility.

"So the first thing to understand about Iran is that it is a country where lies and deception are a way of life. Another important thing to know has to do with the seriousness of Iran as a potential military enemy"

Michael Ledeen writes an easy guide to Iranian politics, internal structure, and threat to the world.

A ten minute read with much more to ponder.  Understanding Iran.

Amazing Facts is a Christian ministry dedicated to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and the three angels' message of Revelation 14 to the entire world through television, radio, literature, live Bible and prophecy events, the internet, and evangelism training."
Rom 13:1-7  Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.  Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.  For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.  Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience' sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for {rulers} are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.  Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax {is due;} custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

1 Tim 2:1-4  First of all, then, I urge that entreaties {and} prayers, petitions {and} thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.  This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Titus 2:6-15, 3:1-2  Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, {with} purity in doctrine, dignified, sound {in} speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.  {Urge} bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.  For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.  These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.  Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.

It just occurred to me how I have been spending the vast majority of my blog time pointing at the obvious, that Barack Obama will be bad for this country.  If he is elected there will be little reason for mentioning his name again: I believe the daily headlines will more than amply decry his march toward the destruction of America.

I have become enamored of his leanings almost as if I were a fan of his "badness".

Jesus is the answer and our hope.  He is the "reason for the season" and the purpose of our lives.

Either way, the outcome of this election is already on the books; only the counting remains.

The outcome of the election of millions of folks for Jesus is not, there is much to do.

Vote, then back to the real work at hand.  The ultimate race is far from over for most folks and there is a real need to speak to them about the One Candidate that will truly justify their existence.

We, I, must stay focused on Him, the Leader of the people of God.

May God bless your life,

Steve
"Is Barack Obama a socialist? A Marxist? It is hard to believe that question could even be seriously asked of a major party political candidate.

Nevertheless, there have been a few times that voters have gotten a glimpse of Obama in unguarded moments. Glimmers that remind me of the left-wing academic whom I ran into a number of times while we were both at the University of Chicago Law School."
