"Slow Fade" by Casting Crowns
Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to followIt's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade
Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day
Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
musings on life with God and life in the U.S.A by a failed husband, struggling father and not always obedient follower of the Lord.
"The nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes." ~ Ezekiel 36:23

No surprises here; the lack of humanity from some of the folks running our country no longer shocks me. I'm just numb to the continuing holocost.
From ONENEWSNOW article:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stirred up a hornet's nest by promoting the idea of spending of millions of dollars on birth control and abortion as part of the economic stimulus package.
"Contraception," argued Pelosi, "will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government." Her comments came on ABC's This Week when asked by host George Stephanopoulos how expanding "family-planning services" to the tune of millions of dollars will stimulate the economy. OneNewsNow sought reaction from Susan Fani, director of communications for the Catholic League.
"It's quite shocking, actually, that the Speaker of the House -- who claims to be Catholic -- would go on national television and claim that contraception would reduce the cost to the government," exclaims Fani. "It's just beyond words, really."

"slain in the spirit"
Would someone show me a Biblical justification for the "slain in the spirit" phenomenon prevelant in so many charismatic churches today?
Please keep in mind that I am not being critical or judgemental; I have seen many wonderful expressions of God's power in the past few years, and have even experienced this myself. The issue I am pondering is whether or not it is of God or of something else.
Here's a central question to consider, "If God is knocking them down by His power, why do we think men are needed to catch them?" Would God purposefully hurt them as a blessing?
Biblical, thoughtful and compassionate responses only please!

Well, today's the day, like it or not.
I don't like him, but he's my president and I'm gonna be praying for him and rooting for him!
President Obama, I will pray that our Lord will guide you in your decision making, that you will truly represent all Americans, and that you will do what is right and honorable for this country, according to the Constitution, according to our Founder's intentions and according to God's design.
May God keep you safe and well and protect you and your family in the years ahead.
May God bless America and keep her safe and well.
Today we begin again

Joseph Farrah writes:
"Many American Christians believe, as an article of faith, that we are to pray for the success of our leaders.
It has become a sort of conventional wisdom among soft-minded believers. The biblical proof-text for this misguided way of thinking is Romans 13:1-4:
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
"Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
"For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."
What could be more clear-cut? At face value, it would seem the Bible is telling us government is a God-ordained good and that we are not to resist its terrors.
Many a coward has been bolstered in his conviction against challenging tyranny by not reading too deeply into the Scriptures. Yet, nowhere does the Bible ever suggest evil rulers are to be obeyed. When the rule of men conflicts with the commands of God, the Bible leaves no doubt about where we should stand.
That's why I do not hesitate today in calling on godly Americans to pray that Barack Hussein Obama fail in his efforts to change our country from one anchored on self-governance and constitutional republicanism to one based on the raw and unlimited power of the central state. "

Nancy Pelosi apparently can't let go of her hatred for the Bush Administration and plots to avenge her ideals while Condoleeza Rice sees the changing of the guard as a positive barometer of higher ideals.
"Pelosi Open to Prosecution of Bush Administration Officials"
"The House speaker suggests to "FOX News Sunday" that the law might compel Democrats to press forth on some prosecutions of Bush administration officials, saying they may not "have a right to ignore" them. "
"Rice: Obama Election is 'Heartening' for Race Conscious U.S."
"Secretary of state says the country is getting over its "birth defect" of slavery and trying hard to get past labeling people just because of their skin color."

oprah winfrey scams?
If "hoodia", "acai berry", and other miracle weight loss products promoted by the Oprah Winfrey machine are so effective, why are we hearing so much lately about Oprah's struggle with her weight issues?
Hmmmmm?

"When anti-choice protesters blocked the opening of an Illinois Planned Parenthood clinic in a community where affordable health care is in short supply, I was the only candidate for President who spoke out against it. And I will continue to defend this right by passing the Freedom of Choice Act as president." ~ Barak H. Obama
